Cool....

Sounds great for just a demo!

You know there's a TON of Tetris remixes here in the AP. Difference is, this is Tetris B lol.

The only problem I find with this is that the main melody seems to come from my left speaker, while the background sounds come from my right speaker.

Can't wait to see the full version!

Note: When you do add bass in here, make sure the bass doesn't overpower the melody. You don't want the bass distorting your song.

Dj-Sanguine responds:

Thanks for the review! It's very helpful when people actually give me tips--I'm still learning, and every tip helps.

I actually just noticed that little weirdness where the melody is set for the left, and the background is on the right--I composed this while wearing headphones, so it sounds neat like that, but not on the computer speakers.

I'll try to have the full version finished by next weekend--I'd like to make a great finished product :D

Thanks again!

Whoa....

And this is just a work in progress?

This would definitely fit well in any action game. Would make a great theme for a futuristic-style stage.

I love the intro. The slow buildup was great, and led into something epic!

The beginning was somewhat simple, then all of a sudden it kicks in at 0:52. Hearing that just blew me away.

Really nice job! You should definitely finish this! :P

Rucklo responds:

You made me one step closer to have the energy of finnishing this up! thanks alot for the candybar dude! :)

Good job!

Haha, I haven't played Kirby Air Ride in a while. I still remember riding around the city, trying out every vehicle there was, and flying through the air. I even raced on top of the buildings XD.

You know, this is the only City remix that I know of here on NG. Nice to see someone finally remixed this. :P

Nice remix you got here. It sounds like a mix of Dance / Techno. The kicks and claps sound good and give the song that dance sound.

What I really like though is the synth you used at 0:56 - 1:05. That one part sounded the best IMO.

Nothing I would change. Good job!

Cool....

Again, this is quite different that the many other Green Hill remixes that I've heard. It's not fast-paced and energetic as the other versions.

I still remember playing through this stage. As a little kid, I kept running into badniks and falling into spikes lol. Even to this day I still do that. XD

I love how mellow this song is! Really something I can chill to, and I like how all the instruments blend together perfectly.

My only problem, like ellebirdy23 pointed out, is that there's no leading melody. It's great that the instruments blend together well, but you need to make the leading melody stand out. But then again, that's your personal preference.

Note: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I hear something wrong at 0:33 and again at 1:17. Is that a skipped note, or was that intentional?

rockleetist responds:

Was actually unintentional, which I'll go back and fix probably at some other point. I shall work on a stronger lead line next time. Thanks!

Quite different....

You know, this is the first time I've ever heard a slow Quickman remix. It just sounds so different compared to what I've heard.

I still remember trying to get past Quickman's stage, trying not to get killed by the instant-death beams lol. I'd have to say that Quickman was the hardest robot master in Megaman 2 IMO.

Now, about the song.

Great job you did here! It has a small bit of Latin in it, though it's more R&B really. I love how mellow the song is!

Thank you for the really elaborate review! And yes, those lasers are such a pain in the ass. :P

The nightlife....

I still remember playing through this stage. Flashing lights, hitting bumpers, and spinning the slots. I just loved how the background looked. The only thing that got me was the boss battle at the end. It got real annoying trying to hit Robotnik lol.

Anyways, on with the review.

I love the jazzy tune in this song. Great choice of instruments. I love the trumpets (trombones?) playing throughout the song, and the saxophones are a nice touch. What I really like though is the bass. Sounds perfect IMO.

Overall I like the whole song, and even the saxophone solo starting at 1:07. The only thing I would change is the saxophones' volume. It just seems too quiet.

Wow; thanks for the praise, and for such a thoughtful review!

nice....

Great song here!

I love the instrumentals in this, and the vocals fit in real well. The piano sounds perfect, and compliments the vocals rather nicely.

0:01 - 1:07 is really nice. Almost had me dancing lol.
I like the transition at 1:08. Love how it goes into a more peaceful song. Then it kicks back in at 2:20. Nicely done!

ApproachingNirvana responds:

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked the song. We spent quite awhile putting this one together and it will definitely be going on our album. If you haven't already check out our other songs on our myspace!

Thanks again.

Inspired by Silent Hill eh?

You know, I can actually tell. Just has that sound to it.

The music box playing almost makes me sad. The sound of it makes me think to myself, thinking of the past and the future.

To go along with the piano, I would think of adding some strings. Also, I would work on keeping the song moving at all times. At some points it just stops completely.

I see it now!

Flashing lights, cameras, audience, everything!

I like the atmosphere I get from this song. The whole song really put me in a cheerful mood. Great choice of intruments. The brass section sound is perfect for a gameshow! Good job!

whoa....

As I listen to this song, I feel as if I'm going to a different world, as if I'm in a dream. Good job!

The intro really helped to set the mood. Listening to the intro, I felt like I was in space. The snare and kicks fit in real well with this song.

Wow, thanks for the awesome review man! Yeah, I didn't think a lot of people would like this, but I guess I was wrong. I went for atmospheric, and that's what you got out of it, so this is good. Thanks again. Glad you liked it!
