It's alright....

Sounds pretty good!

As SilverFang21, the kicks in the background could be a little stronger. You need to add more power to the kicks, but not too much. If you get kicks too loud, it distorts the sound.

You need to lower the volume of the background. I can hear the strings, but it seems to overpower the main melody a bit. Either lower the background or use a instrument that stands out for the melody.

Thanks for the review but I mus admit my first version of the had so much sound packed into so I re did it but remixing this song gets confusing all in all thanks for the review

Nice....

I love the piano. Very soothing.

Sounds great! As I listen to this, I get a sad mood from it. It's as if I'm thinking to myself, asking myself all these questions that I don't have answers for. It just has that sad tone to it.

No problems whatsoever.

Nice....

Nice to see some classic Megaman remixes.

Good job you did here!

It's an alright song. I would suggest though is a longer buildup. It's nice that it jumps straight into the song, but it would've been better if you built up to that part.

You have volume down that's for sure. The bass isn't distorting the song, and the background music isn't at that same volume as the main melody.

As for the ending, you suggest letting the music fade out rather than ending abruptly. As soon as it's over, it just loops and starts back from the beginning.

Good points. At first I was thinking about working this like a vg-loop and it sort of went from there. I think I'll see about reworking it so it has a bit more of an intro and a definite end.

Thanks for the input!

a little weird.....

Man, this sounds a little out there. Just sounds weird IMO.

It is a catchy song, but the arrangement of this could use some work.

The transitions are the main problem. You need to make your song flow more smoothly. The transitions just aren't doing that. Take 0:20 for example. The beginning was alright, then you throw in this new segment. The way it sounds, it sounds out of place.

Another thing is the kicks. Those are Club Kicks I believe, right?
Well, you need to add some variety. The kick plays through the whole 1:25, without any change at all.

The club kicks are mainly part of the sequence i tried, and I dont think i can remove them, But i appreciate the review. I'll try and spitshine this thing some, and see what i can get.

Beautiful....

You classified this as a video game song? What game is this from?

Sounds great! Very soothing....

The atmosphere I get from this is a real peaceful one. I feel as if I'm underwater, admiring the beauty around me. I feel at peace listening to this.

The piano sounds great, and the choir compliments it perfectly. The koto(?) sounds really nice, and is very relaxing. Great choice of instruments!

Bubbleman!

Dude, Bubbleman's my all-time favorite Robot Master! Great remix!

Ahhh, I still remember playing Megaman 2. Blasting through the stages, facing off against the 8 Robot Masters, then going to defeat Dr. Wily!

Overall, the song's just plain awesome!

The beginning was pretty good, then all of a sudden you introduce drums and change the instruments. It was pretty good, and got even better as you progressed.

At times though, I couldn't tell it was Bubbleman. Your original verses are good, but I think that you should've stuck to the original. You even change the notes rather than playing was was originally written.

Your original verses are pretty good though IMO. I especially like the one starting at 3:28. Good job!

Thank you for such a well written review...

Well when i do make an remix i useally try to make 50% cover and 50% my of my own in the song... I want you to regonize the song but also get a fresh experience from it.. :)

Koibee!

I can hear some resemblances, though it's not that Kirby-ish, Kirby songs are generally upbeat, fun songs.

The whole song sounds alright overall. Like I said, there are some resemblences, though not much.

If you're going for a Kirby-style song, you need to think of the other Kirby tracks. A Kirby song is something uptempo, that should put you in a happy mood, and even have some energy. This song does put me in a happy mood, but not like the Kirby tracks do.

I would have liked to see a more complex drum track. Something with variety. The kicks and snare follow the same pattern through most of the song. It's just too repetitive.

Speaking of repetitiveness, most of the song is that. While you do add synths at some points, it's the same notes looping over and over again.

It's an alright song, though not a song that I really like.

thank you. this review was very helpful.

Cool....

Sounds great for just a demo!

You know there's a TON of Tetris remixes here in the AP. Difference is, this is Tetris B lol.

The only problem I find with this is that the main melody seems to come from my left speaker, while the background sounds come from my right speaker.

Note: When you do add bass in here, make sure the bass doesn't overpower the melody. You don't want the bass distorting your song.

Dj-Sanguine responds:

Thanks for the review! It's very helpful when people actually give me tips--I'm still learning, and every tip helps.

I actually just noticed that little weirdness where the melody is set for the left, and the background is on the right--I composed this while wearing headphones, so it sounds neat like that, but not on the computer speakers.

I'll try to have the full version finished by next weekend--I'd like to make a great finished product :D

Thanks again!

Whoa....

And this is just a work in progress?

This would definitely fit well in any action game. Would make a great theme for a futuristic-style stage.

I love the intro. The slow buildup was great, and led into something epic!

The beginning was somewhat simple, then all of a sudden it kicks in at 0:52. Hearing that just blew me away.

Really nice job! You should definitely finish this! :P

Rucklo responds:

You made me one step closer to have the energy of finnishing this up! thanks alot for the candybar dude! :)

Cool....

Again, this is quite different that the many other Green Hill remixes that I've heard. It's not fast-paced and energetic as the other versions.

I still remember playing through this stage. As a little kid, I kept running into badniks and falling into spikes lol. Even to this day I still do that. XD

I love how mellow this song is! Really something I can chill to, and I like how all the instruments blend together perfectly.

My only problem, like ellebirdy23 pointed out, is that there's no leading melody. It's great that the instruments blend together well, but you need to make the leading melody stand out. But then again, that's your personal preference.

Note: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I hear something wrong at 0:33 and again at 1:17. Is that a skipped note, or was that intentional?

rockleetist responds:

Was actually unintentional, which I'll go back and fix probably at some other point. I shall work on a stronger lead line next time. Thanks!
